Folklorni ansambl “RASTKO” je osnovan 1983. godine pri Crkvi Cvetog Save u Londonu, sa ciljem da kroz organizovani rad, okupi mlade da neguju i cuvaju nas folklor, nase obicaje i kulturu.
Pored izvodjackog ansambla, radi i deciji ansambl, pripremni i veterani.
Tokom svoga rada i postojanja belezi velike uspehe, kako u Britaniji tako i u mnogim zemljama Evrope, nastupajuci naraznim festivalima i proslavama. Gostovali u Americi, Kanadi i dalekoj Australiji a najdraze je kad su u Srbiji i Republici Srpskoj.
Ansambl “RASTKO” cesto puta igra ulogu domacina i uspostavlja saradnju sa mnogim drustvima u dijaspori i otadzbini.
Sa ansamblom radi g-dja Nada Grkinic, umetnicki rukovodilac i predsednik drustva. Nada je rodjena u Republici Srpskoj u Gornji Podgradcima (devojacko Starcevic). Pohadjala skolu u Banja Luci gde je i pocela svoje prve korake.
Folklore Ensemble “RASTKO” was established in 1983 at Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Sava in London, UK, with our aim to bring together young people to nurture and preserve folklore, through our tradition and culture.
In addition, the ensemble also consists work with children, the preparatory group and veterans.
During the work and existence, Ensemble ‘Rastko’ has recorded great successes, in Britain as well as and in many European countries, performing at various festivals and celebrations. The Ensemble travelled to America, Canada and distant Australia, and they are most fond of when they are in Serbia and the Republic of Srpska.
Ensemble ‘Rastko’ often plays the role of the host and establishes cooperation with many societies in the diaspora and homeland.
The Director of Ensemble Rastko is Mrs. Nada Grkinic (maiden Starcevic). Mrs.Grkinic was born in RepublikaSrpska in GornjaPodgradci, she attended the school in Banja Luka where she started her first dancing steps.
